Al Khuloud Nursery accepts children who are between 1 – 4 years of age. At Al Khuloud, we follow our own independent curriculum which is a combination of reading, writing, listening, critical thinking and speaking skills development. It provides for a scholastic curriculum for KG and a creative curriculum for toddlers. We prepare students for school by completing the basic portion for kindergarten. We strive to develop listening and speaking skills through different activities ranging from regular rhyme hour to daily orals and display charts to enhance every child’s learning experience. Coherently, we developwriting skills through daily written work in English and math on alternate days and drawing day on Thursday.

At Al Khuloud, each of our classrooms are well –equipped and charmingly decorated to create a fun and nurturing atmosphere that will stimulate learning and exploration for our students. Our staff ensures that each child receives personal attention and his / her needs are well taken care of. While our students are happily learning, playing, sliding and exploring, the teachers never stop working to ensure their safety whether on the playground or in the classroom.

We encourage the development of listening, creative thinking and speaking skills among students through various head start techniques like sing along songs and read aloud picture books. Our curriculum is also focused on the holistic development of its students therefore, we ensure children are introduced and encouraged to participate in various outdoor sports and activities suited to their age and daily exercise.

We also ensure that efforts the child makes in participating in class room activities are recognized by appreciating them through the stars program where we give children a star for their excellent written and oral work. Certificates of appreciation and participation are given out at all nursery events to encourage children. We also use simple forms of appreciation when children show signs of good behavior like acknowledging the same in front of his peers and applauding, etc.

Education and development are vital, but we know that nothing matters more than the safety, security and health of your child.

Our playground is built with child – friendly soft flooring and toys designed for appropriate physical development. Our playground is cleaned and inspected daily. Our classrooms are well decorated and equipped with child size and friendly furniture to avoid accidents and ensure outmost safety for your child. Teachers follow strict standards to maintain a sanitary environment. These include regular washing of hands, toys, cribs, mattresses, sheets, blankets and equipment. All our toilets are child size toilets. Our restrooms are also equipped with child – size sinks.

  • We consider every child’s health by talking with parents and monitoring for symptoms during the course of each child’s day with us.
  • We inform parents when a child does not feel well to help avert an illness from spreading.
  • We have safe fall zones with soft landing areas if your child takes a tumble.
  • We maintain complete hygiene in our centers each day with safe, non­toxic cleaning products.
  • Cleaning supplies are locked safely out of reach of children.
  • Our centers are secured so that only authorized staff and families may enter.
  • Only pre­approved people with photo identification may pick­up your child.

    We also organize regular field trips for the children to parks, bookstores, zoo, etc. to ensure they have a fun filled learning experience at our nursery. We also organize in house events like Earth day, Children’s day, Qatar National day and festivals like Eid and Christmas, etc. Furthermore, activities like coloring competitions, games, fancy dress, etc. are organized during these events to ensure children are provided with a platform to build on their skill and talents in the best possible way.

    Parents are provided with regular feedback on the development of the child by maintaining files and books for the children with comments from the teachers. Parents can also book an appointment to speak to the nursery staff about their child and address any concerns. In addition, a reference letter is provided to all children when they leave the nursery to ensure that they can successfully seek admissions in repudiated schools in Qatar and elsewhere.

    Our uniform is designed to ensure a sense of discipline amongst students at an early age and prepare them for school in future. Our uniform consists of one official set and one P.E (Physical Education) set. Parents are requested to send their child dressed in the designated uniform every day.

    The uniform for boys includes:

    Official (Sunday – Wednesday): Shirt (red and blue) with nursery logo, Pant (red) with adjustable straps & black shoes (With Velcro straps) and white socks.

    P.E (Thursday): Polo shirt (white) with nursery logo, Track pants (dark blue) & white sports shoes (with Velcro straps) and white socks.

    The uniform for girls includes:

    Official (Sunday – Wednesday): Romper (red and blue) with nursery logo & black shoes (with Velcrostraps or buckles) with white socks.

    P.E (Thursday): Polo shirt (White) with nursery logo, Track pants (pink) & white sport shoes (with Velcro straps) and white socks. Parents can place and order for uniform sets once the admission process is complete. The cost of 2 sets of official uniforms and 1 set of the P.E uniform is QAR 250 which can be ordered at the time of admission.

    Students are not allowed to wear valuable ornaments like chains, bracelets, rings, etc. to the nursery. However, small simple earrings for girls are acceptable. The nursery will not be responsible for the loss of such items.

    Our nursery doesn’t have an official vacation schedule. However, we do abide by the statutory holidays assigned by The State of Qatar these include:

    Qatar National Day
    Qatar Sports Day
    Eid Al - Adha
    Eid Al – Fitr

    In addition our nursery also provides holidays to students on Christmas, New Year and, Easter and parents are notified through a circular about the same. Students are allowed to take a vacation whenever they feel it is possible or appropriate. However, Parents have to inform the nursery to secure the Child’s seat and pay the for the number of months / days their child will be away. If not, they will have to start the enrollment process as new admitssince; we enroll and accept admissions every month depending on the number of seats available.

    The nursery doesn’t provide transportation arrangements. Parents are requested to pick and drop their children on time or, make arrangements for the same. In case the parents themselves are not able to pick or drop their child they should inform the nursery and an ID should be produced by the person who picks or drops the child (on their behalf) to confirm the details provided by the parent.

    Parents are also requested to drop / pick their child inside the nursery and not leave them unattended at the gate. Parents are also requested to advise the person they assign to drop/ pick the child to follow the same. If parents or a person assigned by them is always late to pick the child, there will be an additional amount charged which will be included in the fee for that month or the following month.

    Our nursery is equipped with a full time professional nurse. The nurse is responsible to monitor the health of the children on a daily basis. This includes monitoring body temperature, symptoms of flu or sickness (like coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.), and symptoms of allergic reactions (like itching, redness, swellings, etc.)

    We also have a full time Nutritionist who is also responsible to introduce health habits and explaining the importance of the same to the children using child friendly techniques and vocabulary. These include the importance maintaining proper hygiene and cleanliness, healthy eating, drinking lots water, etc.

    The nurse the also responsible to maintain a record of children sensitive to certain types of food or drugs, those with health issues like asthma, heart conditions, genetic disorders or vision and hearing impairment. While, the nutritionist maintains a list of any allergies a child may have to certain types of food. This is information is indicated by the parents during registration and, the nurse and nutritionist have to provide guidelines and ways to care for such children to the Head in Charge who will in turn, instruct other staff about the same.

    Provisions for children with medical conditions and genetic disabilities include:
  • Limited outdoor activities to avoid tiredness and exerting the child.
  • Reduction in school hours.

  • Storing of proper medication:
  • Check for expiry and shortages, inform parents accordingly.

  • Monitoring the health:
  • Every two hours, being vigilant for symptoms that need immediate attention.
  • Referring them to the nurse for action.

  • Providing these children with an environment where:
  • They can grow and develop.
  • They are motivated to participate in activities.
  • They are provided with additional assistance when needed.

  • The nursery only admits children with disabilities who have a proper certificate from the doctor stating that they are fit to attend a main stream school as we have limited provisions for the same but, are not specialized in this area. Also, children who are absent due to health conditions for more than 3 days should present a doctor’s note showing that the child is fit to the nursery from a recognized physician or pediatric in Qatar in English.

    Our nursery is also equipped with a nurse room. This room is well equipped with necessary amenities like first aid supplies, thermometer, and refrigerator to store medicines and ice bags, proper bed for children to rest until their parents collect them in case they are unwell. This room also has an extended bathroom with a wash basin, anti bacterial soap, and paper towels, etc.
